How to put a Big Job on hold

Pause a job while you wait on another trade, with a reminder to follow up.

Who can do this: Owners, managers and office staffUpdated Oct 25, 2026

Installs often stop for weeks while you wait on drywall, paint or the builder.

  1. Open the Big Job and press Put on hold under Status.
  2. Type why, for example "Waiting on drywall".
  3. Pick a follow-up date.

On that date, the Big Job shows under Needs attention on the Home page, so it doesn't get forgotten.

When you're ready to go back, take it off hold under Status and book the next visit.

Other status options

  • Mark completed when everything is done (see Close out a Big Job).
  • Mark cancelled if the job won't go ahead.
  • Rename or Delete.

On the Big Jobs list, filter by Active & on hold, On hold, Completed or All.
