How to choose your JobBills plan and update your card

The free trial, picking or changing a plan, your card and receipts, and what happens if a payment fails.

Who can do this: Business ownerUpdated Oct 25, 2026

This is about paying for JobBills itself. To get paid by your own customers, see How to connect Stripe.

Your free trial

New accounts start with a 14-day free trial with every feature turned on. No card is needed. The Plan & billing card on the Account page shows how many days are left.

Choose a plan

  1. Press your initials (top right) and choose Account.
  2. On the Plan & billing card, pick the plan that fits your business. Each plan lists what it includes and its price per month. Paying yearly costs the same as 10 months.
  3. You go to Stripe's secure checkout page. Enter your card there and confirm.
  4. You come back to JobBills and see Your plan is active.

Compare the plans and prices on the Pricing page. The plans, from smallest to largest:

  • Invoicing: estimates, invoices and clients for 1 person, with a monthly invoice limit.
  • Starter: clients, estimates and invoices, unlimited.
  • Pro: Starter plus the schedule and jobs, online card payments, timesheets and mileage.
  • Business: Pro plus service contracts.
Note: Only the business owner can choose or change the plan.

Change your plan

Pick a different plan on the same card. Moving up or down is prorated: you pay or get credit for the difference on your next bill. If the new plan allows fewer people, JobBills asks which team logins to remove first.

Update your card and see receipts

On the Plan & billing card, press Update card & see receipts. Stripe's secure page opens, where you can change your card and download every receipt.

If a payment fails

  • You get a warning and have 7 days to update your card.
  • After that, the account becomes read-only. You can still see and download everything, but you can't create or edit until the card is updated or a plan is chosen.
  • If the trial ends without a plan, the account is read-only the same way until you pick one.

Nothing is deleted while the account is read-only.

Pause or cancel

To take a break or stop, see How to export your data or close your account. If you cancel a plan, it runs to the end of the period you already paid for, and you aren't billed again.
